Hoarding and the I Codes

This class will outline life safety issues surrounding hoarding cases as covered by the Building, Residential, Fire and Property Maintenance Codes. Participants will have a better understanding about people who hoard, legal challenges, enforcement procedures and processes, and how to gain success by using a team approach. The class will also discuss clean up alternatives and when to seek professional assistance. Topics will include- Hoarding as a mental health issue, Life Safety Conditions and the I Codes, Animal Hoarding, Environmental Clean-up and Legal Aspects.
