This class will cover multiple sections of the 2020 National Electrical Code including the requirements for Short-Circuit Current and Interrupting Ratings. Included are the fault current requirements for definitions, listings, critical points in the electrical system, ratings, markings, identification of disconnecting means, motor contributions, and procedures and methods. 

 At the completion of this class, students should have the ability to recognize the installation and code requirements of the above listed electrical systems and a better understanding NEC sections 110.3(B), 110.9, 110.10, 110.16, 110.22, 110.24, 225.52(B), 230.82, 230.205(B), 285.6, 240.1, 240.83(C), 240.86, 285.7, 409.22, 409.110, 430.8, 430.99, 440.4(B), 440.10, 620.16, 620.51(D)(2), 646.7, 670.3, 670.5, 690.16(B), 700.4, 700.5, 701.4, 701.5(D), 702.5, 705.22, 708.24, 712.65 and 712.72. Students will also gain a better understanding of how to use the NEC and UL Product iQ to locate code requirements.

Instructor Bio- 

Jeff Fecteau represents UL Regulatory Services as a Senior Regulatory Engineer. Jeff graduated from Career One Technical Training Corporation as a Construction Electrician. In 1998 Jeff was hired by the City of Peoria, AZ. as a Combination Dwelling Inspector and within one year was promoted to Senior Electrical Inspector. In 2006, Jeff started working for the City of Bloomington, IL, as a Building Inspector III. Jeff then accepted the position of NEMA Midwest Field Representative in 2007, and in 2008 accepted a position with UL as a Staff Engineer Associate. In 2013 was promoted to Senior Regulatory Engineer and in 2018, Jeff was inducted into the UL Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in the William Henry Merrill Society.
